Sam's Snapshot

The East Surrey constituency covers the easternmost section of Surrey, bordering Kent, and includes the small towns of Caterham, Oxted and Warlingham.

East Surrey has a primarily rural, pastural character. Development has been limited to narrow valleys and established upland settlements by the North Downs; and much of the area is covered with wooded hillsides and rolling arable land.

Tatsfield & Titsey

The village of Tatsfield sits high on the North Downs on the eastern tip of the constituency. At 240m above sea level it is one of the highest points in Surrey. Tatsfield lies close to the Pilgrims Way and along its western boundary runs the route of the old London to Lewes road built by the Romans.

Much of Tatsfield was build in the 1950s but there is still evidence of its popularity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a place for weekend cottages and visitors from London.
