I am very pleased the Government will invest £1 billion of funding to improve A roads and construct new bypasses.
I have therefore resurrected the long standing campaign for a bypass at Hooley, and wrote to Chris Grayling to request an urgent meeting to discuss this important project.
An interchange at Hooley would improve movement between the M23 and A23, and make a real difference to residents of Nutfield, Bletchinley and Godstone. It will also help deal with the problem of HGVs thundering down country roads. Still a long way to go, but I’m pleased that there is now a window of opportunity to make the case for this vital infrastructure investment for the area.
