I have today signed a petition calling on Natwest to stop the closure of its Warlingham branch.
Natwest is closing the branch as it says more people are using e-banking. However, it is clear that many local residents, especially the elderly still depend on the Warlingham branch which not only supports local businesses but also acts as a very important community lifeline.
I have also called a meeting with Natwest senior executives in February to express the dismay felt by those affected and have invited along local campaigner Perry Chotai who is leading the petition to join me in calling for this closure decision to be reversed.
