PM: “The priority right now is tackling the misery that Unions are forcing on commuters”

I welcome the Prime Minister’s assurance that serious and coordinated behind the scenes work, to alleviate the impact of completely unreasonable strike action, is being carried out.

On Monday, the Prime Minister met with Conservative MPs and set out a number of measures being considered. These include replacement bus services on key routes into London, and increasing capacity on existing Southeastern and South West Trains services. I am pleased that these steps are being taken, and welcome the Prime Minister’s commitment to tackling the misery that passengers face.

It is completely unacceptable that long-suffering commuters, whose livelihoods are suffering, are still being used by the Unions as political pawns.
