19th September – Sam recently visited the Three Bridges Rail Operating Centre in Crawley, which controls large parts of the railway operations across Surrey. The centre provides signalling services with the aim of reducing delays and increasing capacity across railway lines in Surrey and Sussex.
Sam visited the centre, which works closely with Southern rail staff in order to get a clearer picture of what more can be done to reduce delays on Southern services across East Surrey.
Sam said: “It is vital to see firsthand what is being done to reduce delays and assess what signalling improvements can be made in order to provide a more efficient service for my constituents. I was assured that staff are working hard to provide a better level of service, particularly during times of disruption. Ensuring Southern provide a regular service without delays is a priority for me.”
