EU Referendum: My position

Having considered the issue of our EU membership at length, I have no fear of an EU exit; Britain is a great country, and we would absolutely find a way to thrive if we decided to go our own way. However, I reject the false choice that says our future prosperity depends on our withdrawal; I believe our best future lies in the European Union, with special status and leading the fight for more reform.

I will therefore be campaigning for an In vote in the referendum taking place on 23 June, and thereafter for a reformed Europe that prioritises extending the free market, securing ambitious global trade deals and rejects the principle of ever-closer union for all member states.

I will spend this campaign reaching out to young people with a clear message: get involved, make your voice heard, and don’t be left with the consequences of a choice you didn’t make.
