I understand that legal contracts have now been exchanged to allow a 107 bed Premier Inn and a Beefeater restaurant. A planning application is being prepared by the preferred developer, CoPlan Estates Ltd, to be submitted in early 2016. Tandridge District Council has an agreement in place to use Compulsory Purchase Powers if necessary to ensure that this development goes ahead.
I am very pleased that we are finally seeing real progress at this important site, which has been a blight on our town for far too long. It is a credit to Tandridge District Council and all who have been involved in securing this development, which will bring new business and investment to Caterham, as well as create around 40 new jobs.
