Flooding update

I remain concerned by the ongoing problems caused by flooding in both Horley and Tandridge, as a result of the unprecedented level of rainfall and the resurfacing of the River Bourne. Whilst these are both rare events, flooding is rightly an extremely pressing issue for residents, and we must ensure that everything that can be done is being done. I am assured that Tandridge District Council, with whom I met to discuss this issue on Friday, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, the Environment Agency, Thames Water, and Surrey County Council are working flat out to co-ordinate efforts to bring the situation under control. I will of course continue to monitor this situation closely over the coming days and provide further updates where possible.
