Speaking at Oxted Citizens Advice Bureau AGM

Speaking to Oxted Citizen’s Advice Bureau for their Annual General Meeting at Oxted Community Hall was a great opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of the volunteers at the heart of the organisation. At the event last Friday I had the great honour of presenting long service awards to two Oxted CAB volunteers, Nigel Hopkins for his work as Treasurer and Elena Bayne-Jardine for twenty years service. Speaking at the event I praised the staff and volunteers who with unfaltering optimism work tirelessly to help others in the community. There is no doubt that the CAB is a lifeline to millions of people throughout the UK, and the Oxted branch has provided a fantastic support to the community for more than 70 years. Dealing with an extensive range of issues, from debt to health to consumer problems, the Oxted CAB continues to provide invaluable assistance, especially during the tough economic times we are currently facing.
