Getting results for pupils with Epilepsy

On Monday I co-hosted a parliamentary event, organised by the Joint Epilepsy Council, to highlight the issues facing pupils with Epilepsy and what schools can do to better address the needs of these students. With an average of five young people with Epilepsy in every secondary school, a better understanding of the impact of Epilepsy on a child’s educational development is critical to helping these students reach their academic potential. The event saw excellent presentations from groups including the Tandridge Confederation of Schools and Young Epilepsy, and whilst there is still much to be done, I am delighted that the event succeeded in bringing together many voices to discuss this important challenge.
