Thrilled to announce that Surrey County Council have granted funds to de Stafford School, Caterham, for a new school kitchen, dining facilities, hard play and covered area. During a Q&A session with pupils last month it was apparent that a new canteen was a top priority for the students and staff (see my earlier post here ), so I was pleased to be able to add my voice to their campaign and make representations to Surrey County Council. I am delighted that Surrey County Council has committed the funds in order to transform the schools’ facilities. Congratulations to all those involved, with particular thanks to Leader of the Council, David Hodge and the Headmistress, Mrs Longhurst for all their work to make this happen. Work at the school is expected to commence by early next year and completion of the dining facilities by the summer of 2013. The school has also seen an improvement in its most recent Ofsted report, demonstrating that de Stafford is a school on the up.
